Healthy living day pictures

On Friday when I came to school I realised it was healthy living day. I was so excited. After the the quick assembly we started to go to stations where each one had a teacher in it who is teaching us how to be healthy by doing exercises. We first went to soccer it we had lots of fun learned how to pass a ball properly to a person. Next we went Nitbusters who told us about knits and how to prevent from getting them. I learned that we have to brush our hair and make sure you have a wash everyday. We had other stations as well. We had lots of fun. I hope I will have another day like this before.

Athletics


To do high jump you need your toes up, bent your knees, swing your arms, scissor kick. You need to keep you toes up because when you point your toes up you can swing your leg up stably. Another thing to do when you are doing high jump is to bent your knees. When you bent your knees you will get the explosive force to jump high. Third you need to swing your arms so you can build up speed and at last you need to do the scissor kick, the scissor kick helps you jump over the bar. With all those stuff you can do a proper high jump.

Trip to New World

Yesterday we went to New World which is one of the leading supermarkets in New Zealand. We went their to read labels and see whether it is good or bad for us. Our class was separated into groups. I learned how to read labels. We looked at the labels and looked how many sugar, sodium, dietary fibre and energy. Are group also did vegetables and fruits we had a table which had green vegetables and green fruits and many more colours we had to write about four different veggies and fruit to identify the type of fruit it was. We wrote down all the information from the products. At last when it was finished we got lots of little gardens. I learned that chips has lots of energy.

Athletics


On Tuesday we had athletics. I was so excited. our coach's name was Jayden. We did games called rats and rabbits and cups and sources. We had lots of fun playing them. After that we had races versing each other from our class. I learned lots of things like how to run fast, keep your eyes in the finish line and use your opposite leg and hand when you run. I had a great day. I hope I will have another day like this. What a day I had.

Tasting jelly beans by closing our nose

There are 5 types of senses in our body. They are Sight, Smell, Touch, Hearing and Taste. We did a jelly bean test to check whether we can find the flavour of the jelly bean by blocking our nose. Did you know that our mouth and nose work together so we can taste. On our tongue we have millions of taste buds that also work so we can taste. When I put my jelly bean on my mouth it was hard to smell the flavour and the only way to find what the flavour was to eat it. It was hard to taste the flavour hen my blocked my nose but when I unblocked my nose I started to feel the flavour of it and i could tell what flavour it was.
